CDC’s National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) is at the forefront of the nation's efforts to prevent and control chronic diseases. Chronic diseases – such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, and arthritis – are among the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems in the U.S. NCCDPHP’s mission is to lead efforts that promote health and well-being through prevention and control of chronic diseases. All people should live healthy lives free from the devastation of chronic diseases.
