Join us and make health a HUMAN RIGHT for everyone.

For more than 10 years, the USF College of Public Health has consistently ranked in the top 25 nationally (USNWR, 2024). The college is a jewel in the crown of the University of South Florida. But, ranking isn’t the only reason why the #USFCOPHRocks!

Here are 10 ways our students are living their best life ever!

1. We like being first! In 1984, the Florida Legislature established the COPH as the first college of public health in the State of Florida. The college offers multiple concentrations that lead to BSHS, BSPH, MHA, MPH, MSPH, DrPH and PhD degrees, plus dual degrees, graduate certificates and online programs.

2. Online guru. Since 1996, we’ve delivered high quality courses in a virtual format to students around the globe. In times like these, trust a proven leader (us) with your education.

3. We are a catalyst for health. “Our practice is our passion” is more than our tagline. Every day we work tirelessly to improve the health of the population in Tampa and around the world!

4. Research matters! COPH students are paired with faculty to conduct research. They continually present award-winning research and practice at conferences and are published in peer-reviewed journals. Yeah, we got it going on!

5. Health students make life better. Online or on-campus, in the classroom or in the community, COPH students join peers in the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy to form USF Health.

6. Sunshine, please. With an annual average temperature of 73°, the COPH is located in a region ripe for examining tropical, neglected and emerging diseases.

7. Our students rock! Service-learning opportunities are woven throughout the curriculum. COPH students annually dedicate more than 1,500 volunteer hours to making life better for communities!

8. Thought leaders. We’re home to 12 internationally recognized centers and institutes including two WHO Collaborating Centers.

9. We travel the world. In the 2022-23 academic year, more than 70 students annually traveled to 20 different countries, including Panama, Spain, Switzerland, Japan, London, The Netherlands, Brazil, Colombia, Australia, India, South Africa, Madagascar and Canada!

10. Peace out. Returned Peace Corps volunteers can apply for the Paul D. Coverdell Fellowship.
