Capitainer AB provides microsampling devices built on patented qDBS technology. Dried Blood Spots (DBS) have been in use since inception in the ‘60’s, most notably for Newborn screening. However due to multiple bias’, their application is only qualitative, whereas Capitainer® internally measures an exact volume of blood resulting in significantly improved accuracy & precision. The DBS disk within the Capitainer® device is protected from contamination, enabling immediate shipping, while drying in transit in the regular mail. These features facilitate self, or assisted sampling from home or other remote settings, with the confidence of analyte precision & accuracy on par with venous blood draw.
Capitainer® sampling devices serve several areas. Currently, the solution is in use, or in implementation in Drugs of Abuse and Alcohol testing, monitoring for PKU positive and kidney transplanted patients. All via Mass Spectrometry, i.e., applications where precision and accuracy really matter.
