The UMass Offshore Wind Professional Certificate program was established in 2020, offering students a comprehensive graduate certificate covering a broad range of fields and disciplines in the offshore wind industry. This certificate is offered online, can be completed in less than one year, and is tailored to meet the needs of working professionals. Our program has established an early track record of success with students and graduates now employed throughout the offshore wind industry. Certificate students and graduates are now in leadership positions with Vineyard Wind, Equinor, SouthCoast Wind, Wood Thilsted, Avangrid, Siemens-Gamesa, GE, Xodus Group, and offices in state government, among others. Our associated Career Access Scholarship program provides tuition coverage and flexible non-tuition funding for students from diverse backgrounds. The scholarship provides students with the expertise they need to succeed in the Certificate and in careers in offshore wind, building an education pathway for a more diverse industry workforce.
