The Christian Dental Society (CDS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer organization, which has existed for 53 years to encourage, train, assist, and equip dental missions to help the under-served worldwide. The CDS is not controlled or governed by any denominational affiliation.
During the past few years, our members have either participated in or have helped encourage, educate, and /or equip over 500 dental missions a year. CDS members mentor over 500 dental and hygiene students to developing countries annually. CDS members help train local indigenous people about prevention and how to remove teeth in a dozen countries a year where there are no dentists.
The CDS has an outstanding website on dental missions at www.christiandental.org where you can find resources and an extensive list of organizations requesting dental personnel around the world. The CDS has produced a comprehensive, 300-page manual to assist mission work, Dental Mission Manual for Portable Short-term Trips, available on Amazon books and Kindle.
The CDS rents portable equipment as well as surgical, restorative, and hygiene kits to equip missions.
