The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences (AOS) offers three graduate degrees: a professional-based master of science, a research-based master of science, and a research-based doctor of philosophy. Our 18 faculty and roughly 60 graduate students have particular strengths in climate/earth system science, geophysical fluid dynamics, remote sensing, planetary boundary layer, atmospheric chemistry, weather systems and prediction, and oceanography.
