Eliminating Forever Chemicals

from Soil, Sediment, and Water

Forever Chemicals, like PFAS and PCBs, are the most widespread contaminants in the world

Traditional remediation methods – landfilling and incineration – produce toxic by-products, excessive CO2 emissions, and fail to permanently eliminate contaminants

ecoSPEARS offers the permanent elimination

Our mission is simple:
Usher in the net-zero future of environmental cleanup

As an environmental technology company, we develop innovative and sustainable solutions to eliminate ‘forever chemicals’ (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins) and other persistent toxins from our environment – forever.

By harnessing the power of green chemistry and NASA-developed technologies, we are rewriting the narrative of environmental cleanup and protecting our air, soil, and water for a healthier and more sustainable future.

Our cutting-edge technologies disrupt current environmental remediation

Sediment

Our ecoSPEARS technology is a transformative in-situ green cleanup system for PCBs, dioxins, PAHs, DDT, and other persistent toxins from contaminated sediment.

ecoSPEARS is a truly sustainable approach using less water, energy, and emissions than traditional cleanup methods. ecoSPEARS is written into both the International Pollutants Elimination Network (IPEN) Non-Combustion Technology for POP’s Waste Destruction and the United Nation’s Environmental Program (UNEP) Stockholm Convention Best Available Techniques (BAT) and Best Environmental Practices (BEP) Guidance for the management of sites co-contaminated with persistent toxins.

Water

ecoCUBE is an ex-situ industrial wastewater and groundwater remediation technology. Mobile, modular, and scalable, ecoCUBE degrades and mineralizes toxins like per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins, 1,4-dioxane, and other persistent toxins from contaminated water.

ecoCUBE’s design maximizes contaminant degradation without high operation pressures or temperatures, as found in other proposed solutions.

This system can be deployed as a primary treatment system, or in-line within a complementary treatment train.

Soil

ecoĀINA is an ex-situ soil washing remediation technology to extract PFAS, PCBs, dioxins, 1,4-dioxane, and other persistent toxins from impacted soil and dewatered sediment. ecoĀINA is a green and sustainable, and cost-effective green cleanup solution for soil or dried sediments using less water, energy, and emissions than traditional cleanup methods.

ecoĀINA is a green remedial alternative to landfilling and incineration that meets EPA requirements. The proprietary ecoAINA system meets in accordance with US EPA requirements for soil washing in accordance with provisions under 40 CFR 761.61 (a)(5)(i)(A) under a self-implementing cleanup program.  It could also be used as part of a risk-based cleanup approval issued to a specific site owner under 761.61 (c).

Access to clean water, food, and air will determine the sustainability of our future.

In 2019, ecoSPEARS joined the United Nations’ PCB Elimination Network (PEN) to assist the Network in meeting its 2028 deadline to eliminate PCB oil stockpiles worldwide. This goal is tied to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set forth by the Stockholm Convention and subsequently adapted by the United Nations (U.N.). In conjunction with the U.N., ecoSPEARS is committed to assisting in meeting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development by adhering its core business practices to the success metrics of the following SDGs: SDG 3 (Good Health and Well Being), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
