The Aviation Technology program at Utah State University prides itself in being able to give students the necessary piloting, maintenance, and PIC skills the UAS industry needs. Three B.S. degrees are offered in the Aviation Technology program — Professional Pilot for fixed wing and rotorcraft, Maintenance Management, and Aviation Management with an emphasis in UAS or Airport Operations.
As an R1 research institution, AggieAir offers the service of providing potential clients with time sensitive, high resolution, multi-spectral aerial imagery. The Remote Sensing Service Center has over 15 years of experience in areas of sUAV, from the initial planning stages of flight development, liaising directly with the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), applying for Certificates of Authorization (COA), to flight planning and actual mission flights.
The Aggie Drone Academy, under USU Extension, was created to educate and train youth, high school educators, community organizations and first responders how to become certified, fly and utilize UAS.
