AMSEA's mission is to reduce injury & death in the marine & freshwater environment through education & training provided by a network of qualified marine safety instructors.

AMSEA has been offering marine safety training to commercial fishermen & thousands of other mariners since 1985.  With a network of instructors based in ports around the US, we provide affordable, effective, hands-on marine safety training year-round. Our 10-hr & 18-hr Drill Conductor courses are USCG accepted & meets requirements for fishermen onboard commercial fishing vessels.

AMSEA offers training for subsistence & recreational boaters, youth, & women boaters.  We also provide contract classes for businesses, agencies, & organizations. We have trained over 200,000 people, including more than 1,600 AMSEA Instructors.

AMSEA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that operates thanks to funding provided by United States Coast Guard, State of Alaska DCCED, National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health, & generous donations from individuals, corporations, agencies &  organizations.
