Founded in 1945, Fishermen’s News is the oldest commercial fishing publication on the Pacific Coast and the only independently owned commercial fishing publication in the market.
For more than 75 years, we have been serving the commercial fishing industry from Alaska to California and Hawaii. We cover all the fisheries, from squid to salmon, and all gear types, from pots to purse seines. Each issue of Fishermen’s News includes legislative news and operations columns, information on maintenance, safety, survival at sea, and current prices for permits and IFQs.
We focus on business, legislative and policy issues as they affect the independent US West Coast, Hawaii, and Alaska commercial fishing fleet.
