It began in the Pacific Northwest in 2002 when my wife Sue and I started BOGS footwear. BOGS was initially aimed at the farm and agriculture market and then morphed into the outdoor and lifestyle business while always maintaining the core values of being warm, waterproof and comfortable. In 2010 I began working on a boot for the more discerning men and women whose jobs necessitate the highest level of grip, safety and comfort. Brewery and winery workers, commercial fishermen, dairy workers, or anyone whose day-to-day activities make hard demands on them and who deserves a boot that can keep pace. After much perseverance, trial and error, testing and re-testing, the TAHMA boot became a reality. Our proprietary rubber formulation and outer sole construction resulted in a boot that is the most slip-resistant, comfortable, and protective available. TAHMA was born from the concept of sisu, a tenant inherent to the Finnish roots of my wife’s family. Sisu embodies unwavering determination and grit, resilience and strength of will.
