Commercial Fishermen for Bristol Bay
Commercial Fishermen for Bristol Bay (CFBB) is a national coalition of fishermen dedicated to protect Bristol Bay, Alaska and the 15,000 jobs, $2.2 billion in economic activity, and generational way of life that Bristol Bay’s wild salmon provide.
CFBB was formed in 2011 to represent and engage the tens of thousands of commercial fishermen and industry members across America who support the protection of Bristol Bay from harmful resource development, including the proposed Pebble Mine. Our partners include over a hundred fishing businesses and organizations in every corner of the country. From coast to coast, fishermen agree that the Pebble Mine is the wrong mine in the wrong place.
In 2023, we celebrate defeating Pebble Mine through the Environmental Protection Agency's implementation of the 404(c) Clean Water Act. As we look towards the future of the Bristol Bay region and fishery, we along with the United Tribes of Bristol Bay are seeking permanent protections through legislation to protect Bristol Bay Forever.
