Canadian Maritime Engineering (CME) – West Coast Division, based in Port Alberni, BC, is a Canadian-owned leader in shipbuilding, vessel repair, and heavy fabrication. Strategically located on Vancouver Island with direct ocean access, CME supports government, commercial, and Indigenous partners across the Pacific Northwest. Our upcoming shipyard expansion, ready before spring 2026, will feature a 440-ton Marine Travelift with variable width capability, able to handle vessels with beams up to 41 feet. This new facility creates a convenient and cost-effective haul-out and repair hub for American vessels transiting between Alaska, Washington, and beyond. CME’s capabilities include new builds, conversions, structural steel and aluminum fabrication, machine shop services, dredging support, piling, breakwaters, and marine infrastructure projects.
