  • TSC T1 & T2 Steel & Rubber Spring Unit Isolators

T1 & T2 Steel & Rubber Spring Unit Isolators combine the best properties of steel and rubber springs in an efficient, compact design. They effectively reduce vibration, structure-borne noise and shock transmitted from rotating and reciprocating machinery, while also protecting sensitive equipment from external disturbances. Christie & Grey’s range of unit isolators is suitable for many types of applications, including marine propulsion engines and marine generator sets, with many variants remaining in service for over 20 years.

Typical applications: marine propulsion engines and generator sets.

  • TSC T3 Steel & Rubber Spring Unit Isolators

T3 Steel & Rubber Spring Unit Isolators combine steel and rubber springs in a compact, economical design that reduces vibration, structure-borne noise and shock from rotating and reciprocating machinery. Christie & Grey’s T3 isolators are particularly suitable for marine and mobile applications, as they incorporate internal snubbers to control the movement of the isolated machine and are backed by over 20 years of proven service.

Typical applications: marine propulsion engines and generator sets.

  • TSC T20 Steel & Rubber Spring Unit Isolators

Christie & Grey's T20 isolators combine the best properties of steel and rubber springs into a single compact unit. They cut vibration, structure-borne noise and shock transmitted from rotating and reciprocating machinery, while shielding sensitive equipment from external disturbances. Internal snubbers control machine movement, making it well suited to marine and mobile installations.

Typical applications: marine propulsion engines, marine generator sets, fire pumps.

  • TSC T10 Steel & Rubber Spring Unit Isolators

Vibration, noise and shock transmitted through rotating and reciprocating machinery can fatigue structures and damage sensitive equipment nearby, so the TSC T10 isolator is built to interrupt that transmission path. It pairs the load-bearing strength of steel springs with the damping properties of rubber in a single compact unit, incorporating internal snubbers to keep the isolated machine under control during the constant motion of marine use. The steel and rubber springs share the working load, meaning the overall creep rate is far lower than that of an equivalent all-rubber isolator, which is a key reason many TSCs remain in service after 20+ years. A resilient seating pad further isolates high-frequency vibration and spring coil surge, whilst optional proof plates and resin-chock soleplates are also available.

Typical applications: marine propulsion engines, marine generator sets, fire pumps.

  • TSC T15 Steel & Rubber Spring Unit Isolators

TSC T15 Steel & Rubber Spring Isolators combine the load capacity and durability of steel springs with the damping and high-frequency attenuation of rubber, controlling vibration, structure-borne noise and shock transmitted from rotating and reciprocating marine machinery. Testing has shown vertical isolation efficiencies in excess of 95% at primary operating speeds of 1500 rpm and above. The steel spring is isolated from the base by integrated natural rubber, damping high-frequency vibration and spring coil surge resonance directly at the source. Pre-compression on assembly keeps loaded and unloaded height nearly constant, and because both spring types share the working load, long-term creep is reduced compared to an all-rubber isolator.

Typical applications: marine propulsion engines, marine generator sets.

  • Genflex Rubber Mountings

Christie & Grey’s Genflex Rubber Mountings use an inclined rubber element design to achieve much higher deflections than simple rubber-in-compression devices, giving superior isolation of low-frequency vibration alongside excellent performance in the audible frequency range. Built from first-grade natural rubber bonded to metal in high-strength SG iron castings, Genflex features an extended top skirt which protects the rubber from oil contamination. The natural rubber provides inherent damping to control temporary vibration during machine start-up and run-down, whilst horizontal stiffness axes allow optimum vibration isolation through careful orientation.

Typical applications: marine propulsion engines, generator sets, engine test beds, chillers, cooling towers, fans, pumps and compressors.

  • Captive Rubber Mountings & Hangers

Captive Rubber Mountings & Hangers are a universal solution for supporting, hanging, anchoring and guiding pipework and ductwork, particularly marine exhaust systems. Designed for high ambient temperature conditions, they control vibration across the audible frequency range while remaining captive and fail-safe whether used as a mount or hanger. Their high transverse/axial stiffness makes them ideal as a flexible anchor, capable of 15° angular misalignment. Christie & Grey’s CRMs can be bolted or welded via base plate, with optional heat insulation pads and soleplates available.

Typical applications: marine and industrial exhaust systems, ductwork, attenuators, high-speed rotating machinery, and shock mounting for control cabinets.

  • PD Marine Shock & Vibration Mounts

PD Mounts are one of a range of rubber shock and vibration mountings available from the Ministry of Defence Ship's Department BR.3021 Shock Manual. Athwartship stiffness runs at roughly 0.95 times vertical stiffness in the normal orientation, with longitudinal stiffness around 0.18 times vertical. The rubber is protected by a flexible sealing paint, with metal parts finished in low-sheen black. Full shock alleviation is only achieved within the mount's designed working range. Optional VSU (Vertical Stop Unit) and Rectangular Sandwich Mountings are available to limit shock displacement and the response to ship motion.

Typical applications: diesel generator sets, marine propulsion engines and marine chiller units.

  • Marine Rubber Turret Mountings

Marine Rubber Turret Mountings are designed to provide superior attenuation of medium to high frequency vibration and noise from a wide range of motor-driven machines, particularly axial and centrifugal fans. Moulded from first-grade natural rubber with an integral steel base and upper fixing boss, they use a high-resilience rubber with a low dynamic-to-static stiffness ratio for maximum efficiency, plus good creep performance and long service life. Available in three sizes, each offered in three rubber compounds identified by colour spot, Christie & Grey’s Marine Rubber Turret Mountings have static deflections up to 8 mm and load capacities from 5 kg to 400 kg.

Typical applications: axial fans and fan coil units.

  • Marine Rubber Hangers for Noise Control

Marine Rubber Hangers form a comprehensive range offering optimum performance at higher audible frequencies, ideal where noise control is the priority rather than low-frequency shock isolation. Wide load ranges and fixing requirements are catered for, making them adaptable across a variety of installation needs. Christie & Grey’s Marine Rubber Hangers are engineered for durability and reliability under sustained, demanding shipboard conditions, including continuous operation and variable loads. They're used across naval, military, commercial, offshore and specialist marine applications, and Christie & Grey provides engineering support to help specify the correct hanger for a given exhaust or pipework system.

Typical applications: pipework, axial fans and fan coil units, ductwork and attenuators, exhaust systems, acoustic ceilings, any other suspended plant.
