The Huon region is a pristine part of Tasmania, Australia, with clear waters, and untouched wilderness on the edge of the great Southern Ocean. This healthy environment is energy and oxygen-rich, the perfect environment to raise salmon, and Huon Salmon enjoy these pristine waters with plenty of room to swim around with 1% fish to 99% water.

We do things differently here at Huon, using low-impact techniques to maintain a low-stress life cycle for our salmon both on-shore and off-shore, minimising contact between our people and our salmon, our focus is on the welfare of the fish.

Our fish receive natural diets which are free from growth promoters or GMOs. Our fish get the best quality of life and are sustained by Tasmania’s unique weather patterns which the salmon love.

Our salmon is unique with Huon Aquaculture being the only seafood producer in Australia to produce salmon with the Australian RSPCA Approved certification. This requires us to meet the Australian RSPCA’s detailed animal welfare requirements.

All of this passion and care results in a firmer, fresher, succulent tasting salmon, supplying our customers with premium quality salmon consistently all year round.
