Airone has been making the best canned fish and foods since 1994. The production plant is in Abidjan in the Ivory Coast, the largest port in the Eastern Central Atlantic. The company, under full italian ownership and management, covers a surface area of over 22,000 square metres for processing tuna and over 10,000 square metres for warehousing and cold stores, with about 1,000 permanent employees. Airone's special feature is that it has developed a ZERO-mile plant only using Italian technology and recipies for processing tuna, following the highest international quality standards. In fact, the tuna processing site is less than 1 km away from the port of Abidjan, where the tuna arrives freshly caught according to sustainable fishing guidelines, mainly in FAO 34 and FAO 47 areas, which are famous for their abundance of the best Skipjack, Yellowfin and Big Eye tuna.
