The XO-SOLE is a revolutionary, smart insole system designed to measure 3-D Ground Reaction Forces (GRF), including critical shear forces, outside of a specialized laboratory environment. This capability is crucial for advanced analysis in athletics, rehabilitation, and military operations. The system's core technology is XO-NANO’s patented Smartfoam, a nano-composite piezo-responsive foam that forms a continuous sensing layer across the insole. This Smartfoam is notable for its stable, drift-resistant performance, which minimizes or eliminates the need for frequent in-trial recalibration, a limitation of other wearable systems. The Smartfoam measures dual pressure and impact across eight sectors. The XO-SOLE couples a 9 axis IMU with a custom microcontroller, using a neural network to transform raw sensor streams into precise 3D ground reaction forces.
