The Alvarez Mattiuzzi Vineyard is a family-owned business producing wines since 2014. Our boutique vineyard is located in Valle de Uco, Mendoza, Argentina, widely considered one of the world's top wine-producing regions. Made with dark-skinned grapes, our wines are full-bodied with a long finish, aromas of plum, cassis, black currant, and generous round tannins with vibrant acidity. Our products include Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and a Co-fermented Blend of Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Our wines are aged in first-use French oak barrels for 18 months. We use co-fermentation for our signature Malbec and Cabernet Franc, resulting in an attractive wine with spices, caramel, and tobacco flavors on the palate.

We invite you to visit booth # 1429 during the exhibition and taste our exquisite wines. See you soon!

 Press Releases

  • HOUSTON. February 8, 2022. The boutique wines REGIS, from the family-owned vineyard Alvarez Mattiuzzi (Uco Valley, Argentina), will debut at Vinexpo America 2022, to be held at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center, New York City, March 9-10, 2022.

A native Argentinian and passionate wine lover, Ricardo Alvarez started this family project with his wife, Gloria Mattiuzzi, in 2010 and has been producing wines since 2014.  REGIS wines are made with the highest quality of grapes cultivated and hand-picked in the coveted Uco Valley terroir, where the weather conditions favor an excellent production of color and tannings in the grapes. Barrel fermented and co-fermented in first-use French oak barrels for 18 months, the Alvarez Mattiuzzi Vineyard produces full-bodied and well-balanced wines. Prolonged maceration and limited wine filtration result in extracting many phenols and tannins, making REGIS a young and opulent red wine. The Alvarez Mattiuzzi wines are intense with a strong personality, pure aromas, balanced flavors, and perfect freshness. Because of its generous round tannins, vibrant acidity, and persistent finish, Regis wines are perfect for pairing with delicious meals.

    The REGIS boutique varietals include:

Gran Reserva Malbec, awarded with Gold Medal from the 2021 Texas International Wine Competition and Bronze Medal from 2021 Uncorked Houston Livestock Rodeo International Wine Competition.

Gran Reserva Cabernet Franc, awarded with Bronze Medal from the 2021 Texas International Wine Competition.

2019 Syrah Reserva, and aged barrel 2020 Chardonnay.

Argentina wines: Argentina is currently the fifth largest wine producer, with more than 800 wineries. Most of the varieties are red, and Malbec is the signature wine produced in Argentina. The Mendoza area at the Andean foothills is known as the winemaking capital in Argentina. It’s characterized by a desert-like landscape lying at the Andes’ base, where vineyards are irrigated by snowmelt from the mountains. With altitudes above 900m above sea level and an average temperature of 14C (57F), winter is rigorous, and summer days can be warm with cold nights. With more than 30,000 hectares of vine and the expansion of the irrigation system “by goteo” (drop-by-drop), the region is especially important for red grapes standing out the varieties Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, and Bonarda, among others. Argentina’s wines are known for their deep aromas and flavors.
