In 2001, Philippe Kessler acquired Château Calissanne and decided to restructure the domaine’s vineyards and olive groves; and to extend and upgrade the vat room and maturing cellars, in order to improve the quality of the wines.

This painstaking work was done with great care.

Today, his wife Sophie Kessler Matière and son Thomas are continuing the work undertaken by Philippe Kessler, and continuing to enhance its two estates: Château Calissanne (AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence), and its famous Clos Victoire and Rocher Rouge; and Domaine de la Clef de Saint Thomas (AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape) with its two cuvées, La Clef de St Thomas and Pierre Troupel.
