CHÂTEAU LA CASTILLE

Solliès-ville,
France
  • Booth: 807-7

Located in the sunny South of France, Château La Castille is a haven of peace in the very heart of Provence, close to the Mediteranean sea. The Estate's 18th. Century Castle is a reminder that the Domain benefits from an enduring heritage from hundreds of years of winemaking, dating back as far as over 2000 years ago when the romans set foot on Gaul. During the 16th. Century, France was at war against the roman Empire and Provence was invaded by Emperor Charles V. The Estate became during that time the quartering of the imperial regiments of "Castille". In 1829, it was acquired by the Aubert Family, who were silk makers from Lyon and who developed it all along the 19th. Century. Mr. Frederic Aubert died in 1922, so that his widow donated the Estate to the Church and still belongs today to the Diocese of Frejus-Toulon.
