Created in 1964 by Christian Imbert, Domaine de Torraccia has been sustainably grown, producing organic, Corsican varietals, and has played a leading role in the renaissance of Corsican wine. Christian planted and promoted ancient varietals, Niellucciu and Sciaccarellu, almost lost during the 1st half of the 20th century. Domaine de Torraccia is situated on granite slopes overlooking the sea in the southeast of Corsica. Marc Imbert, Christian's oldest son, having studied finance in the US, decided to return to winemaking and worked in California's Central Coast, Napa, and Medoc. Marc returned to Torraccia in 2008 to manage the family vineyard and continue his father's philosophy and traditional winemaking principles.
