Mas Amiel's property represents a considerable historic heritage, 130 parcels boasting great diversity in terms of Terroir. The Sainte Eugenie parcal deates back to 1900, and the Cabirou was planted in 1949... Grenache and Lladoner Pelut on granite, Carignan on calcium-rich schist. Mas Amiel, which is recognized worldwide for its sweet fortified wines, is proud to present parcels or blended cuvees under Maury Sec and Cotes du Roussillon AOC, distinguished by the most renamed wine tasters.
Mas Amiel obtained organic certification for the entire Estate in 2017 and finally in 2020 the Biodynamic certification! Sherry on the cake with the creation of a full range of clean natural wines, showing the real commitment from Mas Amiel to purity and environment in general.
The Decelle Family since the 90' is taking care of the Heritage: The Fortified Wines! Made from Grenache noir, The Mas Amiel oxydized wine is fortified (by adding alcohol to stop its fermentation) and then macerated for 10 to 30 days. After this period, the wine is stored outside in a park of 1000 glass demi-johns, subjected to ultra violet rays and dramatic changes in T° and after that aged between 20 and 50 years.
