The story of the Castan Distillery starts in 1941. From
that day and for many years, the Castan family has
been taking a mobile still to all the villages of the Tarn
and Aveyron. Gilbert, who started this activity,
transmitted his know-how to his son and grandson
Sébastien, the current distiller.
The latter decided to build a fruit and whisky distillery in
2007. The first whisky was distilled in February 2010.
First distillery in Occitania, the Vilanova Whiskies are
limited editions with unique characteristics. Sébastien
Castan has left his brandy production to devote himself
to Whisky.
The result is a copper-coloured liquid with aromas of
spice, almond, cocoa and hazelnut. The cultivation of
the grain, the brewing, the fermentation, the distillation
and the ageing are all completed at the Castan
Distillery.
