Deep down in the green hills, hearth of Tuscan Maremma ( south west of Tuscany ) and not far away from the Tyrrenian Sea ( just in front of Elba Island ) and its healthy influence, there is Tenuta Casteani, a Winery and Wine Resort ( in Grosseto Provence ) which was in wishes and thoughts of Mario and Marco Pelosi, that in 2001 moved to Maremma in order to start a new life .
Casteani’s mission is deeply aimed at respecting nature around and first of all at the evaluation of the Terroir. That’s why at Casteani they cultivate with passion and professionalism mainly local grapes, like Vermentino for the whites and Sangiovese for the reds.
Especially the Sangiovese enhances the richness of the two winery’s reds : Sessanta and Terra di Casteani that both of them express the company’s character and the wildness of the territory with a long fining in barrel.
