  • MAN Engine Range for Workboats

MAN Engines offers a wide range of high-speed four stroke diesel engines for use in workboats.

For heavy operation – with unlimited operating hours and working up to 100% full load – such as for tugboats and other working ships, MAN Engines provides a range of outputs from 147 kW to 735 kW (200 HP up to 1,000 HP).

In medium-heavy operation (up to 4,000 hours per year at 50% full load), such as for ferries, passenger ships, and fishing boats, the range of outputs extend from 412kW to 1,066 kW (560 HP to 1,450 HP).

In light operation (up to 1,000 hours per year at 20% full load), the MAN engine range offers efficient 6-, 8- and 12-cylinder engines from 537 kW to 1,397 kW (730 HP to 1,900 HP) for escort, ambulance, and police boats.

A characteristic feature of MAN marine engines is their powerful acceleration coupled with an extremely low fuel consumption. Their advantages are to be found above all in their outstanding power efficiency and compactness. The engines are delivered ready for installation, and are designed for optimum performance in the various conditions of deployment and operation. After installation. MAN Engines offers to examine and pass off the engine and to carry out extensive commissioning. All engines comply with the internationally applicable exhaust-gas regulations.

  • MAN Engine Range for auxiliary engines

MAN Engines offers powerful and compact diesel just as gas engines with 6 and 12 cylinders for use as auxiliary engines. The three engine series (two diesel engines and one gas engine) cover ratings range from 190-800 kW (258-1,088 hp) with the diesel engines and 500-580 kW (680-789 hp) with the gas engine. With 12.42 l to 25.78 l displacement, the engines are based on the latest engine platforms and the most cutting-edge high-volume technologies from MAN Truck & Bus SE. The compact construction of the engines leads to a compact construction of the auxiliary engines, which is a high benefit on board. All engines satisfy the IMO tier II and with the SCR system from MAN Engines the IMO tier III emission standards as well.

    Applications for auxiliary engines

    • Marine gensets
    • Emergency gensets
    • Auxiliary/Harbor gensets
  • MAN SCR System
To comply with the most important global emission guidelines, MAN Engines offers its customers numerous and flexible solutions for emission reduction....

  • Exhaust gas aftertreatment (EAT) with SCR

Modular exhaust gas aftertreatment (EAT) from MAN Engines excels due to its compact design and high flexibility in restricted installation spaces. It allows for a wide range of installation possibilities and system integration tailored to specific customer needs, as the individual components can be positioned differently. Modular EAT is available over all segments and for many different applications. The centrepiece of the EAT is an SCR catalytic converter (selective catalytic reduction), which helps to reduce the nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the emissions in a targeted manner. To do this, a 32.5 percent AdBlue© fluid solution is metered in an SCR mixer and then injected continuously and directly into the exhaust tract. There, the solution reacts with the nitrogen oxides and converts them into water (H2O) and harmless nitrogen (N2). The system can either be used by itself, as SCR-only, or combined with other components such as a DOC/DPF (diesel oxidising catalytic converter/diesel particulate filter), to cover many different emission guidelines.
