The e1 Marine methanol-to-hydrogen generator is used in conjunction with PEM fuel cells to deliver a proven efficiency gain over legacy internal combustion engines with a more reliable, safer, and greener fuel than legacy marine bunkers. This innovation opens up tremendous potential benefits for shipowners and operators, including a 28% reduction of CO2 emissions, around a 42% reduction of thermal efficiencies, and produces zero particulates, zero NOX, zero SOX emissions. In the longer term, using renewable methanol, alongside efficient carbon capture technology, could result in net zero or CO2 negative ship power.
