Fairlead is an ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified Veteran Owned Small Business and an end-to-end supplier for the maritime industry. The Systems division in Portsmouth, Virginia provides products and solutions from the initial concept to the fully developed and fielded product or system. Fairlead supplies electrical control panels, variable speed drives, networking components and machinery control systems. Fairlead designs and manufactures integrated mechanical solutions, leveraging our ability to fabricate and machine complex parts and systems.

Fairlead's Ship Repair division in Newport News, Virginia performs maintenance and repair of small boats and watercraft, as well as heavy fabrication in support of shipbuilding. The yard also supplies repair services to our commercial and military customers in both CONUS and OCONUS yards and bases.

Fairlead Structures (also in Portsmouth, Virginia) is located along the southern branch of the Elizabeth River. Fairlead fabricates, assembles and preserves large mechanical structures in support of aircraft carrier and submarine construction.  The waterfront facility is easily accessible with 475ft of pier frontage and able to accommodate 18ft draft. There is a 1,250-ton NAVSEA certified Synchrolift capable of hauling vessels to 235’ via ground level rail transfer system, and an impressive 2-bay paint and repair building (250’L x 140’W x 80’H).

In April 2021, Fairlead entered the U.S. manned vessel market and partnered with the Icelandic company Rafnar.  Fairlead is proud to be the first company to partner with Rafnar in the U.S.  Fairlead will manufacture leisure, tactical, and professional variants using Rafnar's revolutionary ÖK hull-and-keel technology.
