Raytheon Anschütz GmbH is one of the world's leading manufacturers of navigation and bridge systems for commercial shipping, mega yachts and naval vessels. In the year 1905 the company was founded under the name Anschütz & Co. in Kiel, Germany. Anschütz has been responsible for the invention of the gyro compass and for numerous revolutionary developments in seafaring. Since 1995 the company has been part of Raytheon Technologies Corporation (formerly Raytheon Company). Raytheon Technologies is an aerospace and defense company that provides advanced systems and services for commercial, military and government customers worldwide.

Today's product range extends from gyro compasses, autopilots and rudder control systems for surface ships and submarines, radar systems and electronic sea charts (ECDIS), and electronic logbooks to complete integrated bridge and mission systems. Together with a global service network and its own branches in Singapore, Shanghai, Panama, Rio de Janeiro and Portsmouth / UK, Raytheon Anschütz offers customer services to more than 30,000 ships worldwide.

Raytheon Anschütz works in numerous national and international working groups and research projects to shape the future of navigation safely and reliably.

  • ECDIS NX Compact
The ECDIS NX Compact is a pre-configured system of a 24" multi-touch panel-pc and the ECDIS NX application. It offers „plug and play“ installation and supports customers with unsurpassed user-friendlyness and easy handling at a competitive price....

  • ECDIS NX Compact is a preconfigured system of a 24-inch panel-pc and the ECDIS NX software that will make installation and operation easier and safer than ever before. Optimized for ECDIS retrofits, the panel-pc is equipped with interfaces for Ethernet and IEC 61161-1 (NMEA).

With a software installation wizard and selectable standard configurations for newbuilding and retrofit installations, the operating system and the ECDIS software install semiautomatically, requiring the ship-specific parameter input only.

“Customers receive our new ECDIS in a single package and for the first time with plug and play, reducing the entire installation time to less than one hour,” said Björn Schröder, product manager at Raytheon Anschütz.

The ECDIS NX software has a modern, clearly structured user interface that also supports intuitive interaction patters such as touch or drag and drop. A maximized chart display contributes to better situation awareness.

By making all mandatory functions available at a single touch or through wizard-guided workflows, ECDIS NX effectively simplifies the daily tasks and use cases of navigators.

“Customers receive all typical ECDIS functions with this system, and beyond this we offer a growing scope of modular features and ongoing compliance with future ECDIS standards. Our ECDIS is a secure investment at a very competitive cost level,” Schröder said.

ECDIS NX Compact can be used for installation aboard new buildings and in any retrofit. It also replaces existing installations of the predecessor ECDIS24. For paperless navigation and type-approved track control with Anschütz autopilots, a dual system of ECDIS NX Compact is available.

  • Standard 30 MF
The Standard 30 MF Gyro Compass is a maintenance free gyro compasses based on this hemispherical resonator gyro (HRGs) technology. The use of HRG technology together with the simple design makes it extremely reliable with and no need for maintenance....

  • Standard 30 MF is the second generation of maintenance-free gyro compasses from Raytheon Anschütz. It provides highly accurate heading, rate-of-turn, roll and pitch information. Further, as part of a heading management system, Standard 30 MF provides the same advanced functions Anschütz gyros are known for.

The new gyro features an ultra-robust design and offers superior lifetime performance and effectiveness. Among its features, Standard 30 MF settles at rough-seas and provides heading output even if speed and latitude input fails. With Ethernet and CAN-bus interfaces, cabling efforts are minimized.

Like its predecessor Horizon MF the Standard 30 MF is based on hemispherical resonator gyro (HRGs) technology which has proven its reliability and accuracy in more than one hundred installations aboard a ship. HRGs are vibrating resonator gyros consisting of only few elementary pieces, assembled in a miniature hemisphere uncoupled from the outside.

Together with the simple design, this makes it extremely reliable with no wear and tear and no need for maintenance. Consequently, the mean time between failures (MTBF) of Standard 30 MF is more than 100,000 hours, which is significantly greater than the MTBF values of optical gyros.
