Established in 1947, Derecktor Shipyards has since become renowned for excellence in the construction, repair and refit of yachts, workboats, military ships and hybrid vessels. Today, four Derecktor facilities span the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S., offering everything from marina space to megayacht and commercial construction.
With three hybrid catamarans delivered and a fourth scheduled for 2022, Derecktor has pioneered U.S. commercial hybrid construction. Vessels have ranged from a boat used to advance public knowledge of marine ecology and the challenges facing our marine ecosystems, to a cargo vessel delivering fresh produce from small farms to restaurants and markets.
While Derecktor New York has a 75-year history of building workboats that show up for work, our yard is well-positioned to continue as a leader in hybrid vessel construction, as well as support the future development of the U.S. wind energy industry.
