  • Expansion Joints and Bellows
    Penflex expansion joints and bellows, designed and manufactured in accordance with various standards and fully customizable, protect piping and equipment from excessive stresses due to thermal movement and from movements of the ship....

    • Metal bellows and expansion joints, ranging in size from ID 2½” to 120,” are manufactured at our Gilbertsville, PA location. We offer single and multi-ply constructions in a wide range of configurations and alloys, and with a full complement of end fittings and accessories. Our engineers are skilled in knowing what information is needed to build an expansion joint for your application and are readily available to answer any questions about the process.  

    Expansion joints are manufactured in accordance with the latest Expansion Joint Manufacturers Association (EJMA) Standards as well as ASME B31.3, B31.1 and Section VIII. We have our U and R Stamps, signifying compliance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, as well as our ABS certification to meet a broader range of marine applications. Structural welding is in accordance with ASME Section IX.

    We understand that unique applications require unique products. To that end, we have the technology and know-how to create standard, off the shelf, and custom bellows or expansion joints to meet your needs.

  • Flexible Hoses
    Penflex provides a unique breadth and depth of hose products and leads the industry in alloy offerings and wall thicknesses. Air intake and exhaust systems along with cargo loading and unloading are common marine hose applications....

    • Penflex offers annular and helical corrugated hose options, ranging in size from ¼” – 24” in a range of geometries to meet various needs. Often welded, end fittings are attached to these hoses to create completed assemblies that can be connected into the final installation.

    While capable of forming thinner wall hoses for applications where flexibility is the main requirement, our ability to form heavier wall hoses which offer greater durability and improved resistance to chemical corrosion is unmatched. Such a robust design also offers improved reliability in high pressure applications.
