Wencon UW (underwater)  Coating is a two-component product, to be applied on wet surfaces or underwater. The UW Coating is ideal for the repair of ballast- and cooling pipes where dewpoint can be an issue. A pipe repair using Wencon UW Coating combined with interchanging layers of Wencon reinforcement tape. Excellent for repair jobs which, due to high humidity, have to be done in wet conditions.

Typical applications are coatings of steel surfaces rebuilt with Wencon UW Cream, and coatings underwater – like ships hulls, and/or other submerged structures, tanks, pipes, etc. Examples of repairs under extreme conditions could be On-site repair of sea-water filter housings, where it is not possible to achieve a dry surface and coating of scratched painting on hulls in splash-zones and underwater.

Wencon Pipe Tape is a fast curing pipe repair bandage especially formulated to make quick and effective repairs of cracks, leaks, fractures, and corrosion porosity in piping carrying water, oil, steam, most gases and even solvents. Wencon Pipe Tape has good pressure, temperature and chemical resistance.

Wencon Pipe Tape is a preimpregnated fibreglass bandage ready for use after soaking in water for 10 seconds. After 10 minutes cure the bandage hardens and the pipe can usually be reactivated. The bandage is fully cured within 1 hour.

Compatibility:
• Wencon Coating “S” is fully compatible with other epoxy-polyamide / amine paint & polyurethane coatings as Wencon Products is solvent free.
• These substrates bond well to each other when applied within the overcoating intervals or the surfaces are clean and slightly abraded.
Atmospheric Conditions:
• No coating shall be applied when the relative humidity of the air is outside the limits
given by the coating manufacturer.
• No coating shall be applied and dried during fog, mist, rain, when the steels temperature
is below the coating manufacturer's specification/recommendations, or if the steel
surface temperature is less than 3 degrees Celsius above the dew point.
Wencon Product application:
• Surface to be applied shall be prepared as per specification & appear dust and grease free before applying the products.
• If required use a Cream & Rapid to retain the original thickness and/or shape of a deteriorated surface. Following Protective Coats to be applied just after semi curing has occurred (wet in wet application)
• Wencon Coating “S” is to be applied by two component Hot Airless Spray equipment, conveyed in separate hoses, and blended immediately prior to spray nozzle.
• Applied by Hot Airless in a double or coat of each 500μm (Total 1000μm DFT)
