Electro Plastics is the manufacturer of STEP Marine, low voltage heating elements made of a unique homogeneous, self-regulating, positive temperature coefficient (PTC), Nano-carbon polymer blend. This means that as the temperature increases, the resistance increases, and the consumption of electricity decreases. These patented heating elements are thin (1.2mm), flexible, durable and come in 12", 9", 6” and 3" wide. The elements can be indifferently connected to a 24V AC power supply or to a DC controller and run directly to alternative energy. The heating elements can be used for interior and exterior applications, including floor warming, primary heat, snow melt and deicing. The STEP Marine system is very energy efficient because of its self-regulating abilities and due to its large and low-temperature heat distribution. Besides heating luxurious interiors in yachts, STEP Marine has been installed for deicing on the NOAA vessels, on tugboats that go to Alaska at minus 40 degrees and on pilot boats in New York and the Great Lakes. The product has an ABS Certificate of Design Assessment and is suitable for use in Class 1, Division 1 & 2. If it needs heating STEP (Self-Regulating Technology of Electro Plastics) has the solution.
