The name Furuno is no stranger to workboat vessels. Furuno USA has been the industry leader in marine radar, sonar, fish finders, communications and precision navigation for over thirty years in the U.S. Today, Furuno is the leading supplier of marine electronics around the world. Even though Furuno straddles today’s market, it all began with a single product and one man’s vision more than 65 years ago. In the early 1940’s, Mr. Kiyotaka Furuno set out to help Japan’s fishing fleet improve its effectiveness and efficiency. Using state-of-the-art sonar technology, Mr. Furuno helped engineer and manufacture the world’s first electronic fish finder. This new fish finder was the first in a long succession of break-throughs in fish detection technology.

  • WV100 Wave Analyzer
Wave Analyzer for FAR2xx8/FAR3000 Series Radar...

  • Furuno has harnessed the power and sensitivity of the FAR22x8 and FAR3000 Radars to provide real-time monitoring and analysis of waves and currents on the sea surface. WV100 Wave Analyzer PC software works with both X-Band and S-Band Radars to analyze and display wave data on both the Radar screen and a PC display. Knowing the wave height, direction, and period is critical for guaranteeing the security of crew and cargo in heavy seas, for providing the most efficient navigation, and for managing port traffic safely and with ease.

WV100 software utilizes an automatic adjustment function, freeing the user from re-calibration if there is a change in sea state. WV100 software provides real-time data in both graphic and numeric formats. The Wave Spectrum Display uses a color range to indicate the relative intensity of waves, allowing the user to understand the situation at-a-glance, while the Radar Echo Display shows the absolute intensity of the Radar's reflection from each wave using a 7-color spectrum. Data-sharing between ship and shore as well as between vessels allows for quick course adjustment, economical route planning, and efficient traffic management around ports where monitoring of sea conditions is required.

Precise wave height measurement is critical for optimizing a safe and pleasant voyage for passengers and crew, allowing the navigator to set their course to avoid dangerous pitching and rolling, and for preventing or reducing damage to both ship and cargo due to inclement weather. Having accurate wave and current information in real-time is essential for offshore construction. The system can be used with both X-Band and S-Band Radars, so when X-Band proves inefficient due to heavy rainfall, the system can easily switch to the S-Band Radar. Accurate wave data can be exported via serial transmission to an external compatible system, such as an automated weather reporting or dynamic positioning system.

The safety of life and of ships at sea is the most important priority, and WV100 PC software provides the real-time analysis of sea conditions that allow skippers to make those important decisions based on the most accurate information available.

  • SCX20/SCX21 Satellite Compass
    Compact Dome Satellite Compass™, NMEA200 or NMEA0183...

  • Utilizing four separate GNSS Antennas for the ultimate in responsiveness, the SCX20 and SCX21 set a new standard for reliable and accurate heading for all of your marine electronics. Traditionally, a Satellite Compass™ calculates heading using one baseline between two antennas; the SCX20/21’s four antennas can calculate heading information using any one of the six baselines drawn between the four antennas.

The unprecedented quad-antenna design of the SCX20 and SCX21 makes them capable of calculating extremely accurate heading, pitch, roll, and heave information. They are the perfect heading solution for complex vessel installations where the view of satellites may sometimes be obstructed.

The SCX20 and SCX21 enhance the performance of on-board equipment such as Radar, Fish Finders, Sonar, and Autopilots. Accurate heading information empowers your NAVpilot to keep a better course, saving time, fuel, and money on every voyage; meanwhile, precise pitch, roll, and heave information stabilizes the display for many Furuno Fish Finders and Sonars, allowing for an accurate presentation even in the roughest of seas. When connected to Furuno SCX20/21, the Radar’s echo trails hold steady and clearly depict an accurate echo trail thanks to the SCX20/21’s amazing accuracy.

  • NavNet TZtouch3 with DFF3D
NavNet TZtouch3 MFDs with DFF3D Multibeam Sonar...

  • Furuno's ground-breaking NavNet TZtouch3 MFDs paired with the DFF3D Multibeam Sonar continues to wow the marine electronics community, winning the highly-coveted Product of Excellence award for Fish Finder five years in a row. The DFF3D takes fish finding to new depths and angles, with a 120-degree view from port to starboard. With PBG functionality, boaters can create their own shaded relief bathymetric charts wherever they travel. The recently unveiled, free software version 3.5 introduce a revolutionary new feature called Follow-It, allowing users to leverage the PBG (Personal Bathymetric Generator) data from their DFF3D Multibeam Sonar. Follow-It instantly creates a constant-depth route to navigate a specific depth contour. With just a swipe and tap, Follow-It creates a white line on the PBG chart indicating the constant depth. Tapping the line allows the angler to instantly transform it into an active route and send it directly to their NavPilot Autopilot. The NavPilot will follow the depth route all the way around a ridge or trough. By following specific depth contours, fishermen can keep their baits at the same level as the fish while trolling without constantly adjusting the reels. Having your bait at the correct depth is critical to catching fish in areas where tide and currents flow along structure where gamefish concentrate.
