Innomar Ocean Technologies develops smart buoys with integrated DigiCatch App, transducers for wireless transmission through the water column, and novel traps for fishing. The smart buoys transmits GPS position, geofence with push warning, current direction, ownership and type of gear connected.
Every year more than 600K tons of fishing gear is lost in our oceans. This means increasing plastic pollution and ghost fishing. Sunfish smart buoys can prevent the loss of fishing gear and hence reduce ghost fishing and the plastic pollutionof our oceans.
The Sunfish smart buoys are integrated with Olex chartplotters. More plotter integrations to come- and we also have our own plotter. We have partnered with Iridium Communications, Telenor, Telus Communications, Microsoft Accelerator, Kongsberg Maritime, Merinov Institute, Marine Traffic and more.
Innomar Ocean Technologies are “digitalizing the oceans” and will harvest data from the ocean. Sunfish buoys will collect large amounts of ocean which will be an essential tool for anyone from fishermen to scientists within the fields of oceanography, climatology, meteorology.
