In-depth knowledge of passenger ships, different military platforms (frigates, amphibians-multipurpose, …), experience in the design of ships powered by alternative fuels, covering all engineering phases, up to construction support. The shipowner is accompanied throughout the life cycle of ships, from the preparation of operational technical documentation and manuals, logistics and maintenance documentation, conversions, adaptation to environmental regulations, and improvement of energy efficiency.

  • Frigate-110
The frigate 110 is a multipurpose platform that represents a technological leap towards the smart ship. It incorporates Industry 4.0 technologies that will improve construction, operation and life cycle....

  • The future F110 frigates are one of the Spanish Navy's star programmes pending modernisation over the next few years. They will replace the current F80 of the Santa María class, a group of ships whose first unit entered service in 1986 and which are gradually reaching the end of their operational life, which would be around 2025, after the modernisation they received at the beginning of the 2000s. GHENOVA participates in the functional design of the F-110 frigate from the company's headquarters in Ferrol through a team specialised in this type of highly complex technological projects.

  • Pipe Layer -SUB SEA 7
HC Merwede launched Subsea 7's 550 t pipe-laying vessel, Seven Waves, at its shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, the Netherlands, a vessel that will be used in the development of a deepwater oil field in Brazil on behalf of Petrobras....

  • The Seven Waves is the fifth vessel ordered by Subsea 7 from IHC Merwede's Offshore division.

IHC Offshore & Marine designed the vessel in close cooperation with Subsea 7. The vessel has an overall length of 146 m, a beam of 30 m and a class 2 dynamic positioning system. The vessel is equipped with a vertical positioning system (tiltable), with a maximum tension capacity of 550 t, and twin ROVs. It is equipped with two below-deck storage carousels, with a capacity of 2,500 t and 1,500 t of product respectively. The lay tower can operate at an angle of up to 10° and is equipped with: two tensioners, each with a capacity of 275 t, which can be retracted out of the firing line, and two wire centralisers.

  • LNG bunker Vessel 10k CBM
GHENOVA carried out the conceptual design of a 119.35 metre long bunker/feeder with a total LNG capacity of 10,000 m3 distributed in two tanks. Dual propulsion - electric. Autonomy of 1100 miles. Crew 15....

  • In order to comply with the restrictions on the main dimensions to allow access to certain ports, after a study of alternatives for the selection of the cargo containment system, membrane tanks were specified because it reduced the bulk of the tanks, and therefore the dimensions of the vessel at the same cargo capacity. This was also justified by the operational profile of the vessel.

The project was a challenge due to the short time available, the specificity of the product, and the innovative aspects involved. The solution obtained met all the requirements demanded by the client, increased the knowledge and capabilities in the technologies for the use of LNG as fuel, and serves as a reference for this incipient sector.
