The Port of Charleston’s commercial shipping channel offers deep water access to our 6 repair berths totaling over 8000 feet of workable waterfront. Detyens Shipyards has three (3) graving docks, the largest of which is Panamax size and an 11,000-ton floating dry dock. Detyens Shipyards also offers extensive crane service throughout the yards and shops, two marine chemists on site, tank cleaning and slops removal services, and a multiple number of workshops which includes machining, welding, paint and electrical.
