When industry goes to sea, it takes its electrical power with it. GE Vernova's Power Conversion business works on ships and boats that need cleaner power and energy for their efficient operations and maneuverability. Through electrification GE Vernova's Ship's Electric Grid is operating from 1MW to more than 100MW, generating and distributing power around the vessel and integrating cleaner energy sources.
We work across commercial and naval marine sectors, with specialist capability in offshore energy applications, including the offshore wind sector.
- Propulsion solutions - Flexible, efficient, cleaner propulsion technology: GE Vernova’s electric and hybrid propulsion systems can enable up to 10% greater fuel efficiency than traditional diesel-mechanical system.
- Ship’s power network - Operating in remote, harsh environments a vessel needs its own dependable power network. High performance, efficient technology is combined with ease of inter-connection and use. GE Vernova’s SeaLab service gives you simple cost and configuration options to help optimize performance for different operating requirements.
- Dynamic positioning - our widely used DP provides up to DP3 capability for reliable station keeping, control and autonomous capabilities. Our SeaGreen Energy-Efficient DP can save more than 10% in fuel and emissions.
- Digital solutions & lifecycle support - Combining our digital suite practical tools to improve vessel health and energy efficiency with user-friendly dashboards.
- Ports electrification - from SeaGreen shore power and charging solutions to port microgrids, helping to reduce emissions.
