Officially launched in 2022, OpenTug focuses on improving sales and operations for inland and coastal maritime transportation companies. In just over a year, we have established ourselves as a key player in the barge industry, with hundreds vessel operators using our marketplace and software tools. In 2023 alone, over 3 million tons of cargo were requested over the 25,000 miles of waterways we serve.
As of early 2024, OpenTug raised a $3.1 million seed round to further develop software solutions for the industry. Our mission is to drive more cargo onto America's waterways, aiming to improve business processes, visibility, and sustainability.
