  • Chafe-Pro: Commercial Series
    Chafe-Pro®’s Commercial Series is ideal for protecting a ship’s mooring lines from pier and/or chock abrasion as well as protecting lines used for towing....

    • Abrasion testing has shown Chafe-Pro®’s Commercial Series to be more resistant to chafe abrasion than marine-grade fire hose and chafing gear made from materials such as HMW-PE (polyethylene), Kevlar, etc.

    The Commercial Series is available in standard and custom lengths.  These models are recommended for mooring/anchor lines and for use on towing hawsers that are used for light to moderate strain towing applications.  For heavy towing, we recommend our Ship Tow or Ship Assist units that have our Viking Armor® coating applied.

  • Eye Units
    Chafe-Pro® HB Eye Units are designed for ease of application and removal....

    • In just a few minutes, a single person can remove or install an HB Eye Unit. It can be installed or removed from the eye of the line without having to undo the splice. No lacing or lashing is required as each HB Eye Unit comes with FJORD Inc.’s special patented locking feature. All HB Eye Units are sold by the linear foot and they are designed to fit line sizes from 1 ½” – 5” in diameter.

    All Chafe-Pro HB Eye Units are coated with FJORD, Inc.’s Viking Armor®, a proprietary blend of water-based polyester, urethane and other abrasion resistant properties. This coating aids in holding the nylon weave together in areas where the chafing gear is stressed most by friction.

    Chafe-Pro®’s Thor Guard® is a one-piece unit that encloses both the splice and the eye of the line....

    • Chafe-Pro®’s Thor Guard® is a one-piece unit that encloses both the splice and the eye of the line.  It offers a continuous layer of abrasion resistant material without a break in protection at the transition from the eye to the splice.

    The standard Thor Guard® is designed for lines 1” – 1 ¾” diameter, with a 3 foot eye (i.e. 6 linear feet), with a mooring tail extending 7 feet from the throat of the splice.  Its design features handles on the eye to assist with handling of the line
