Founded in 1925 in Coral Gables, Florida, the University of Miami has matured into a major research enterprise and renowned academic health system with more than $413 million in research and sponsored program expenditures. The University’s 12 schools and colleges serve 19,000 undergraduate and graduate students from around the world. The University of Miami operates four campuses, including the original Coral Gables Campus. The Medical Campus in Downtown Miami encompasses the Miller School of Medicine, the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center complex, and three hospitals that are part of UHealth–University of Miami Health System. There are also more than a dozen UHealth outpatient clinics throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Collier counties. The Marine Campus on Virginia Key in Biscayne Bay is home to the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science. The Richmond Campus in southwest Miami-Dade County houses the Rosenstiel School’s Center for Southeastern Tropical Remote Sensing.
