Boutique Design New York
Jacob K. Javits Centre – NYC
11-12 November
Stand 1027 Lapalma takes part to Boutique Design New York the most relevant exhibition for the contract market for the East Coast American market and Canada.
At its ninth edition in the NYC’s Javits Centre in Manhattan, it has become the window of the trends for the hospitality market and a platform where professionals and manufacturers can meet and share.
Lapalma is bringing to New York all the passion and culture of the Made in Italy, a competent mix of industrial production and care in details, material research and sustainability, which gave the company the opportunity to be part of big international projects – hotels, shops, museums and airports - with products with essential and clean lines, developed to answer to the multiple needs of the contract market. Like for example ADD, the awarded system of modular seating designed by Francesco Rota: “ADD” is the perfect answer to the needs of the market which, especially in the hospitality, was looking for a flexible product, elegant and essential at the same time, as Mr. Dario and Romano Marcato, owners of lapalma, said. “From this input, a universal project is born, a modular solution for a free combination of elements, meeting the requirements of interior designers, thanks to its die-cast aluminum legs to be used as a link and connect the frames”. The display conceived by Francesco Rota, art director at Lapalma, for BDNY, is representing the concept of comfort zone, explored for the first time at the Salone del Mobile 2018, where welcoming solutions for the contract market were exhibited.
ADD is introduced to the American market in its newest and most comfortable version “Soft”, the answer for project of public areas focused on comfort and wellbeing.
In the stand designed by Francesco Rota, ADD collection is also shown as ADD T, a family of tables with extrusion of aluminum and die-cast aluminum legs which can be integrated in many ways with ADD S, a system of storage units in powder coated metal and seating for numberless configurations, ideal for an office with open and hybrid spaces.
Around the ADD T table, MIUNN chair, designed by Karri Monni, will be displayed with its welcoming shell perfectly supporting your back and the brand-new stacking chair SEELA, designed by Antti Kotilainen.
Eclectic, refined and contemporary, SEELA has an unexpected mix of materials. The shell in polypropylene has been enriched by the warmth of a wooden seat pad or by the comfort of an upholstered pad, seamlessly integrated. There are many possible combinations, also coming from the different bases available, for a chair ready to be easily placed in public areas.
In the lounge zone of the stand, ADD Soft is complemented by the height adjustable side table YO, designed by Romano Marcato and some JEY tables by Francesco Rota which are placed near the iconic ottoman KIPU designed by Anderssen & Voll. UNO the chair with generous seat and back designed by Francesco Rota is exhibited in an elegant lounge version.
On the back of the stand, two SCREEN partitions, design Francesco Rota, are defining the space with their elegant shades of colors. Boutique Design New York is every year and is among the American fairs with a strong growth. In just two days, 11th and 12th November, this event connects more than 8.000 professionals of the contract market (interior designers, architects, reps and contractors, with more than 750 manufacturers of contract furniture.
By taking part to Boutique Design New York, Lapalma strengthens its position among the most important players of the contract market, with a proposal based on the Made in Italy, innovation, flexibility and, last but not least, comfort.

Lapalma For more than 40 years lapalma has been manufacturing furniture for residential and contract market, getting many international awards thanks to a coherent and constant research on the quality of materials, working process and care on finishes. Using “pure” materials, caring about details, producing in Italy: these characteristics belong to lapalma’s DNA and the cooperation with Francesco Rota will even reinforce them. The new collections are introducing a soft touch with fabric upholstery, focusing on colors and the hand-made details: the products become then suitable for corporate projects and “home-contract”, because they can be used in both ways and satisfying the need of the market. To make the collection complete, new products are going to be developed that – though characterized by the same manufacturing and formal quality level – belong to a more attractive, more competitive price – range. The research into materials such as hard leather, soft leather and ecoleather has been extended to fabric –foamed and upholstered, which is offered both for existing products and new projects. For many years, lapalma has been working with many international designers, building with them long lasting and high-quality relationship. In the near future, this cooperation will go on and, on the other side, new ones will start, with the introduction of new designers who have shown a potential similarity with our brand in terms of sensibility, professionalism and flexibility.
