SPEER strives to be the regional leader in the education and promotion of energy-efficient building systems and distributed energy resources that strengthen local economies, improve healthy and quality of life, and protect the environment. We implement this through our main program areas: Energy code implementation and adoption, local government energy assessment needs, working closely with our State Energy Office and Public Utility Commission through educating legislative staff on the importance of adopting stronger energy-efficient goals and policies, and training building operators and maintenance personnel through the Building Operator Certification (BOC) program.
