Chown Hardware was founded in Portland, Oregon on September 15th, 1879 by F. R. Chown and is the oldest family-owned architectural hardware company in North America.
Located in the magnificent Pacific Northwest, our commercial and residential divisions are intent on presenting, selling, and supporting the finest products available.
From our humble beginnings selling the first hunting and fishing licenses in the State of Oregon to where we are today, Chown has guided six generations to create both comfortable and secure spaces for homes and work places all over the Pacific Northwest.
