AN INVERTED APPROACH FOR HARD-TO-WRAP PRODUCTS (Aug 01, 2022)

June 21, 2022 – The Valtara SleekWrapper i65 sets the bar when it comes to flow wrapping hard-to-handle products such as soft baked goods, tortillas, fresh produce, meats and multi-pack trays.

The Sleek i65 feeds the film from below so that delicate and hard-to-wrap products are securely carried on top of the packaging, essentially pulling them through the wrapping process. By carrying the product through instead of pushing it, the integrity and the aesthetics of the product are maintained.

Built with reliability and serviceability in mind, this affordable, easy-to-use flow wrapper features integrated infeed and exit conveyors, stainless steel frame and discharge chute, easily accessible film carriage and large color touchscreen.

When speaking of about their newly integrated flow wrapper, production and operations manager Jason Stovra for client Spring Meadows Natural Pet Food stated that “everything really came together well with this project: a high-quality product in high-quality packaging produced on a high-quality machine.” Stovra went on to say that “the machine has run like clockwork, running 50 packs per minute, or roughly 10 pounds of product, producing perfect hermetically sealed packages to keep the product nice and fresh.”

NEW SIDE LOAD BAGGER NOW AVAILABLE (Aug 01, 2022)

May 27, 2021 – WeighPack unveils its new Swifty Bagger Side Load automatic bagging machine, offering new features for customers that require product orientation within a pre-made pouch.

This compact machine can load pillow and gusseted bags ranging in length from 150 to 350 mm and in width from 120 to 260 mm, either with zippers or without. Additional options are available to provide a nitrogen gas flush for customers looking to increase product shelf life as well as a labeling configuration to print expiration dates on the bag.

“We reimagined the Side Load to meet the demands of our customers across industries. From pet treats and beef jerky sticks to face masks and diabetic syringes, and for products that cannot be gravity-fed, this machine allows precise control over how the product will be viewed within the bag,” said James Morris, lead technician at Paxiom Automation.

A perfect solution for products that are required to be standing up “soldier style” within a pouch or single items this automated solution can be used in food packaging, consumer goods, healthcare, cosmetics, personal hygiene, hardware and more.

The Swifty Bagger Side Load is economical, easy-to-clean and its straight-flow design provides easy accessibility while allowing the operator to monitor the entire filling process from the front of the machine. An accumulation table can be positioned prior to manual case packing or can also be fully integrated with complete end-of-line systems to include case erectors, pick and place case packers, drop packers, case sealers and palletizers.

VERTICAL FORM, FILL, SEAL MACHINE HANDLES HIGH-SPEED APPLICATIONS (Aug 01, 2022)

The XPdius 1700 vertical form and seal machine is designed for high-speed applications and service-ability.

With the capability of filling bags up to 17 in. wide and 24 in. long, this new vertical form, fill, and seal machine can be integrated with its PrimoCombi multi-head weigher to weigh, fill, and bag frozen meat, poultry, seafood, snack food, pet food, produce, and more.

Both sides of the machine open, allowing easy access to all parts and assemblies inside the frame. Maintenance mechanics save hours of time with features like tool-less quick removal of change parts and open design. The PrimoCombi™ multi-head weigher family of automatic combination scales is commonly used when applications require the highest accuracy and overall throughput.

Offered in 10, 14, 16 and 24-head configuration, each head (or lane) includes a dedicated load cell. The process starts by filling the center of the PrimoCombi scale with bulk product which then vibrates from the center cone to the individual vibratory feeder pans. These feeder pans transport product to the weigh bucket where it is weighed and measured.
