  • Fiberpartner’s history goes all the way back to 1860, when Theodor Wittrup founded a small shop that mainly produced woolen textiles.

    Theodor’s company grew for over a century until its manufacturing division was sold to a carpet producer in 1976. That same year, Ole Wittrup established a trading company that would help his son Thomas found Fiberpartner. As a privately held company, Fiberpartner is owned by Thomas Wittrup, a proud descendent of our founder Theodor.

  • It is time to fix polyester

    While polyester has a broad range of well-proven qualities, it fails to meet the environmental standards of tomorrow.

    PrimaLoft® Bio™ provides a sustainable safety net

    PrimaLoft® Bio™ is a revolutionary additive technology that enables polyester to biodegrade* in the surroundings where most plastic ends up: landfills and ocean water. When exposed to these specific environments it breaks down over time into natural components: water, CO2, methane, biomass, and humus. This way PrimaLoft® Bio™ enhances sustainability and creates a strong safety net under our products.

    Put to the test

    According to independent tests, PrimaLoft® Bio™ reached a 93.8% biodegradation* in 646 days when exposed to an accelerated landfill environment. That is near-complete biodegradation* in under two years, while standard polyester remains almost completely intact. Moreover, the independent testing showed that the soil left behind from the degradation process contains no plastic and remains perfectly suitable for plant growth.

    Maintains all the benefits of polyester

    PrimaLoft®Bio™ is durable and built to last. The circular-enabled fibers ensure it can be chemically recycled, again and again, while maintaining the same high performance. It does not biodegrade during use, transportation, or storage. It doesn’t require any special treatment and blends well with natural fibers. In short, all the benefits from polyester are in a modern eco-friendly way.

    *93,7% biodegradation in 646 days under ASTM D5511 conditions (landfill environment);

    86,1% biodegradation in 1563 days under ASTM D6691 conditions (marine/ocean environment).

    The stated rate and extent of degradation do not mean that the product will continue to degrade.
