The latest development from award-winning Acteev combines the antimicrobial protection of zinc with nonwoven essentials
HOUSTON, March 28, 2022 – Acteev will launch its polyamide nonwoven technology at the 2022 IDEA Expo, giving prospective brand and manufacturing partners the opportunity to learn about and experience the unique technology and its applications.
"Attendees can learn how our technology protects products like air filters, diapers, feminine hygiene products and more by inhibiting the growth of bacteria to keep the product fresh,” Jamie Haseltine, business director for Acteev, said. "Customers continue to seek sustainable, premium products with proven antimicrobial protection. Acteev accomplishes this without compromising quality or performance.”
Using one of nature’s own elements, Acteev locks in the environmentally safe antimicrobial protection of zinc ions within nonwoven materials during the polymerization process, allowing brands and partners to create products that naturally combat bacteria, fungi and other microbes that can damage air filters, absorbent hygiene products, baby diapers and more.
Plus, unlike chemical applications and coatings, Acteev does not rely on any post-production treatment or after-market process. Instead, Acteev’s zinc ions are embedded directly into the matrix of the molecule, providing protection throughout the life of the product. This means Acteev requires less water in the manufacturing process while ensuring the protection remains as effective as day one.
