The global market for Generation 1 CLT is currently estimated at more than two million m³ per annum with a CAGR of over 10%. Replacing traditional urban structures built from concrete and steel is now seen as critical to mitigating climate change. One of the key challenges which will constrain the continued growth of standard CLT is the availability and cost of sawn timber.
Lignor's patented stranding technology addresses this need by using widely available pulp logs to make high-performance products with multiple applications, including multi-floor buildings, offsite prefab housing systems for walls, floors and roofs and truck and container flooring.
