Profile

For the past ten years Don Rider, J.D has held the position of Collegiate Professor of Human Resources Management and Labor Relations at The University of Maryland University College. In that role he designs and delivers both classroom and on line instruction in a variety of human resources areas. Don is also an active consultant and trainer, and author. Prior to joining the full-time faculty at UMUC , he served as Counsel, Labor and Employment Law at the FDIC. In that capacity he represented the agency in arbitration and unfair labor practice cases and before the Federal Service Impasses Panel. He served as legal advisor to agency bargaining teams, and as an advocate in mediation, fact - finding and interest arbitration. His Federal career also included stints with both the NLRB and the FLRA. Mr. Rider received his undergraduate degree from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University and his law degree from the American University, Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Maryland bar.
