Profile

On January 20, 2017, Veronica Venture became the Deputy Officer for the Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL), which supports the Department as it secures the Nation while preserving individual liberty, fairness, and equality under the law. Prior to this role, Ms. Venture served in dual positions as the Deputy Officer for CRCL and Director for Equal Employee Opportunity (EEO) and Diversity, bringing significant expertise and experience to the federal EEO process and diversity management—particularly as it relates to law enforcement. Ms. Venture served at the Federal Bureau of Investigations for nine years. Additionally, she served as the EEO Director for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for 12 years. She began her career at the EEOC as a law clerk and held positions as a trial attorney, administrative judge, Acting Area Director of the San Diego Field Office, and Special Assistant to the Chair. Ms. Venture graduated from Connecticut College and received her law degree from the Washington College of Law at American University.
