Mr. Gary M. Gilbert is the president of Gilbert Employment Law, P.C., which he established in May 2005. Mr. Gilbert has extensive legal experience in the area of civil rights law. Prior to the opening of his own practice, Mr. Gilbert was of counsel with Passman & Kaplan, P.C. Immediately prior to this position, Mr. Gilbert served as an Administrative Judge, then Chief Administrative Judge in the Baltimore District Office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for a total of 16 years. During his tenure with the EEOC, he supervised administrative judges and conducted administrative hearings on allegations of unlawful discrimination, harassment and retaliation. During his tenure at the EEOC, Mr. Gilbert served on various committees and workgroups, including those that reformed EEOC regulations and another, in which the workgroup drafted the EEOC's Handbook for Administrative Judges. Mr. Gilbert was on the founding board of the Federal Employment Law Training Group (FELTG) and continues to deliver training on new developments in equal opportunity laws. His audiences are varied, but generally include: investigators, attorneys, union officials, or human resources, labor relations and employee relations personnel. He has also spoken at conferences of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Administrative Judges and Merit Systems Protection Board Administrative Judges. Mr. Gilbert received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland, School of Law in Baltimore, Maryland. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
